Default Old Cars And Grey Hair

On another thread I made an extremely stupid suggestion in regards to old cars and those that appreciate them. The post was made in reaction to the suggestion that the newer cars be removed from Stock Eliminator. Plain and simple, the post was MEANT to be stupid.

I love the old cars. How cool is it that McNeal Freeman qualified the "Taxi Cab" number one at Charlotte!!

My post was made to reflect how special the other posters suggestions are to me. It in no way reflects a change that I would ever want to see. Since I was a teenager, Stock Eliminator is where I wanted to race.

Maybe it's time to stop fighting over what is in the guides?

I would propose that the biggest threat to Stock and Super Stock at this time, is the EPA. We really need to get the RPM Act passed. If not, all those VIN tagged race cars could very possibly become illegal.

Those that decided to bash me on the other thread might want to consider this. I did not sign up as a Founding Member of PRI to save my COPO Camaros. I did it to save all those COOL old cars!

Also, this grey haired guy is the person who asked for HP off the 1969 Ram Air III GTO last year....

Funny that you would bring Robin up in a conversation about old people....

Oh Wow! It figures you would pick on the old guy when he is down. Well I'm not down but my bride of 42 years chose to have a knee replacement on Monday.

I made the decision to sit out racing in May to take care of her while she gets back on her feet.

Good to see Daren win. You have always put great drivers in those bad *** COPO's Except for Daren and I. But now he has joined that group of racers.

Looking forward to that Cobra-Jet verses COPO match race. Will have to be this summer.

Robin

We did, a young twenty-somthing mechanical apprentice from work. He has an LS Camaro street car. My racing partner(Steven) and I took him to a couple of races ( to get him away from the friday night/ street race crowd) Now he's hooked. He actually sat down with Robin and Andy to learn and help with the Holley EFI on Steven's Super Stocker. He is also learning carbs from us in the process. (exchange of information). Its good to see the enthusiasm and helps invigorate our program.

Well Gump, You just cost me $500.00 in "GET GUMP" contingency stickers. SDS was going to post a $100.00 bounty on your head.

Seriously, we all agree that stock is an "entry" level category that has gotten out of hand. If you could find the younger guys wanting in, many would be hard pressed to come up with the cash. Hence, all you grey hair or no hair guys in stock and ss, me included.
