Re: Geoff Turks Blackbird
Thanks again for all the support and encouragement.
Here's a video of the pass, nothing spectacular but it was a good clean pass, hopefully we can step it up in St. Louis this weekend |

Re: Geoff Turks Blackbird
Thanks Sam...yes, we’ve been through a few boxes of Wheaties (and many other boxes Fed Ex/ UPS delivered) to make the journey from FSS/D.
Cool write up in Dragzine with more insight to the people behind the Wheaties that really made it happen. http://www.dragzine.com/news/the-wor...ge-challenger/ |

Re: Geoff Turks Blackbird
69camZ28, I grew up in Decatur, IL. Moved away when I was 18 but continued to visit family / friends (and Krekel's) there often over the years.
Started racing at Motion Raceway in Assumption, IL with my brother around '77, started driving my own car in '79 (a rusted out '69 Dodge Charger). Been stressing my finances and trying to go faster ever since : ) . |

Re: Geoff Turks Blackbird
I noticed the article said you were from Decatur, that's why I asked. I was at Motion a few times as a kid with my parents, but it closed when I was like 6 or 7. I grew up not far from Assumption in small town called Nokomis. I live in Rochester, IL now - I thought if you were still in Decatur I would see if I could come check out your car - I really like the Factory Stock class! We go to Indy each year on Wed - Sat, primarily just to watch the Sportsman classes....Congrats on your 8.02, best of luck as you shoot for the 7s!
