Re: Live from Maple Grove- NHRA Lucas Oil Series
Stock round four -- plenty of double breakouts -- these are some- Barton over Kreeber -Dent over Oakes - Perrone over Welker -- Fetch over Gray -- Bednez over Lowell -- Casey over Sansome -- Kieth O went red
Opps - I'm missing S/S 4 as I type...... Round 5 match-up --Fetch vs Kopecky(who had a bye in rd4) heads up ............

I like all the sportsman categories except alcohol. Alcohol to me is just like the pro categories at the entry level only worse. Who has the most money wins. Plus they always oil the track!!!! My 2 Cents[/QUOTE] Its mostly because of the throttle stops. The start and die and start again runs. Class racers are not crazy about the 150-160+ MPH runs at only 9.90 either. If the cars were built to run at and tuned to run around 9.90 with out the throttle stops it would have more acceptance with other catagory of racers. The majority of spectators feel the same way. Just my 2 1/2 cents. Last edited by X-TECH MAN; 05-24-2009 at 07:53 PM. |

Re: Live from Maple Grove- NHRA Lucas Oil Series
Final thoughts -- I couldn't believe it but the whole deal was over by 2pm yesterday -- plenty of time to get home early and make some points .Those who stayed over to watch final eliminations were treated to some excellent racing -- even in categories we normally don't watch .Despite the fact there were many oildowns by the "leakers" and some sportsman and the fact that we had almost 550 entries things went pretty well all weekend -- kudos to the NHRA team and the Maple Grove Raceway staff members for a job well done .
Another thing I noticed was the fact that we saw new cars this past weekend -- there may be a recession going on but new iron costs big $$$$ and they were there -- examples -- Jim Boburkas' 69 Camaro -- Ken Kiers' Nova -- and I could go on ..............Sportsman racing in Division One is alive and very , very well thank you .

Re: Live from Maple Grove- NHRA Lucas Oil Series
Double breakouts; the car that breaks ourt the most loses... time and again, and as it should be.
Double red lights? We'll never know; the slower car always loses IF both cars leave before the green. What's wrong with this picture? Plenty.... but, it can be fixed. Just my 2-cents.... Bill PS Sorry for hijacking the thread.... couldn't resist the opportunity given the dialogue about double breakouts and how totally the procedure THERE is accepted...
