You can get basic rebuild kits at most parts stores (I forgot the brand name), but I found this site to have a lot of good stuff.

Carter Strip Kits have been out of production for a very long time and very hard to find. They had them for a variety of their carbs, including the TQ.

The Carter Strip Kits have been out of production for over 30 years and are very hard to find. Your best bet is Ebay or Amazon or places such as this. I have run into them at garage sales and MoPar dealers with new/old stock. BTW they are very pricey! Good luck! Jim

Just ditch the primary jet system. Eliminate the metering rods altogether and the step up piston. You can purchase a holley jet tap and retap the primary holes for a holley jet. I then find the smallest secondary jet (the long ones) in economy 750's and drill them to desired sizes. Then all you need is a parts store rebuild kit.

Sorensen. makes the rebuild kits they are a spin off of Hy grade or Standard.
Main jets all over E-bay however I found a great company called BFIC or www.carbsonly.com
His name is Carlos he has tons of parts for Thermoquads.
Hope this helps Mike

I just bought 3 kits at the NAPA store for the 71 Thermoquad. The strip kits are difficult to find but there are some still out there (they are just very pricey). I have done the holley jet conversion but was not real happy tends to load up at low rpm but does work at full throttle. You can find Thermoquads at most swap meets for real cheap just take the jets out and redrill to what you want. OOPS I just saw you were in Finland swap meet finds might be difficult. John Irving posts on here all the time he has tons of old carbs maybe he would sell parts and ship to you.

I have 250 Thermoquads in the shop and 30 AVSs.
Also quite a lot of pieces and parts.

You can message me on this site.
I do not build them anymore for customers but still
can give some some advise.

I have an old strip kit from '87 or '88 when I bought it, my cousin got a edelbrock for his maverick and I told him to get a carter strip kit and I'd tune it for him. He went to a local CARQUEST and picked one up. (this was 6-8 months ago)

You guys are saying they're not out there?? It wasn't EXACTLY like mine, but rods, springs and jets. Just no needle and seat selections like my kit.

This was for a AFB or AVS style not a thermoquad, maybe that's what I'm missing?
