Default small round aero scoop

i see alot of the this type of scoop on cobalts and some of the rear wheel drive conversions and i'm curious which one you guys are using our car only does 138-139 in the 1/4 so i think we need a pretty small opening to take advantage of the scoop early. and i'd like something that's not terrible to see over.

If you calculate the area of the scoop opening ,it actually not that small, but its shape helps maintain velocity
Plus it's used on cars that typically have fairly small displacement engines.
The biggest benefit from this style scoop is drag , or rather how much less they have than the older broader style scoops.
I switched to a triangle style inlet ,narrow scoop from the older ,wide style scoop and picked up nearly 2 mph.

tom i'm basicly wanting to play with one in comparison to our factory style ss scoop i think there are gains to be had in this area especially 1/4 mile. and we have a spare fiberglass hood to use with it so we won't be loosing our current setup if we don't like it. i was planning to bolt it to the carb and trim the hood to slide around it.
