Race 11 and 12 from St. Thomas

Race number 11 and 12 brought the Can-Am series back to St Thomas Raceway Park Sept 21 and 22, for the final visit this year.
Rain Saturday kept us from racing but many took full advantage of the track offering free test and tune that evening, and joined the track gamblers race. In the end it was Bob Park over Rob Becker, continuing the trend of Can-Am racers dominating over those from other series (see results from last DSE race).
On Sunday – 31 cars entered. The eventual winner was James Little, turning on the win lite with his Malibu over Bob Richards in Ian Hills H/CM Camaro. The draw and award winners from the weekend were;

Dilts Piston $100 entry winner – Kirk Vanni

Rick Hill – 1st round $50 gas money – best loosing reaction time – John Wisman

Geoblaster – Bounty hunter award – not contested


As all good things must come to an end, we are quickly approaching the end of another terrific season of Can-Am. The championship is set to come down to this final race, as the top positions are very close, and those drivers chasing points leader Glen Baker are within striking distance. With the last race on the 5th of October in Cayuga, a reminder to all of our racers that this will be your last chance to purchase Banquet tickets in person (and who can say no to Ann Marie's smiling face ? ). We are also in need of donations for the draw prizes for the ladies involved in our series. Everyone who has a wife, girlfriend, mother, or sister that helps, supports, or just puts up with your racing, should seriously consider giving back by helping to provide some prizes for the ladies at the Banquet.
