Default 10 bolt in G-body

I have a 10 bolt, 8.2 , P, 71, that is a non C-clip. The question is, can I make it fit a g-body . I know its too wide and I'll be doing some work on it I'm just thinking no c-clips ! John

Not really. The lower mounts are wrong. The uppers ears are at the wrong angle, and the spring pads are in the wrong place. Other than that, it should fit fine.

Question Re: 10 bolt in G-body

What year G-body do you have? I have a stocker with an 8.2 (leaf spring) & 1 with a 8.5 I'd use an 8.5 every time! (it's a G-body)

G.M.made a 8.2 back in 71? I know a 73 A-body has a 8.5 non c-clip. I have one in my 68 Firebird. Of course, narrowed and leaf springed.

The rear end is a BOP - P after counting splines on the axles and pinion and the ribs on the outside it looks like a 66-71 pont. A. I know I'll have to move the control mounts and the spring mounts but.. can i use the top ears maybe with flex joint. John

Your best choice would be a Moser setup. Next a GN 8.5 10 bolt, then a 12 bolt with Iceman arms.
