Default RV Tires

I am going to need new tires soon, 295/80/22.5. Has anyone purchased any and what was the price. I am looking at Bridgestone R250F, GY670RV, and Michelin XZA2 Energy. Any suggestions for suppliers would be appreciated. I know the recent fuel increases have caused the tire prices to skyrocket, but what are you going to do?????

Thumbs up Re: RV Tires

Arnold , I used to buy the top of the line tire for my motorhome ,only to have them dry rot away before i could actually wear them out. I know everyone has diff situations. My traveling was not a whole lot ,so i was spending too much for what i was doing.Tires are higher now for sure. My tire man told me to just buy a middle rated tire to serve my purposes as long as i was not driving no more than i do now. They will dry rot in the same time as the best grade and i will lose less money on my investment .Now if i was driving the wheels off my stuff , i would go for the best....That is just my opinion and it works for me and my situation...You gonna run some IHRA with us this year ?

Thanks for the info, Comp and Danny. I'll post what I come up with locally......I surely don't want to pay shipping on 800# of tires.

Arnold,

You might want to look at Discount/America's tire. I think it is called Discount tire
here on the west coast and America's Tire else where across the country.

Arnold,I looked them up on tires-easy.com and found both tires. The only difference is
they both are 80 aspect and not 85:

Michelin XZA2 295/80/22.5 $660.00 ea plus shipping
Bridgestone R250F $526.60 plus shipping.
I don't know where you live so I put shipping to NJ and it was $307.06 for the Michelins and $277.28 for the Bridgestones.
I've bought about 6 sets of tires from them in the last few years and they were good to deal with. One thing I do is tell them I want tire that are dated no longer than one year old.
I guess you know how to read the date code on the tires.

Bridgestones is a very good brand for my rv rental and that's a good price you paid.

Thanks for the help on the tires. I went with the Michelin Energy XZA2 and was able to get them for $4200 installed, NC tax, balanced, and out the door. In 29 days, the Michelin tire has gone from $660 each to $770 each and an 8% hike goes into effect on Monday. Almost as bad as diesel fuel going up every day.........

I put new tires on my motor home today. I guess I was lucky but the ones I took off were 13 years old and had 91,000 miles. Got 4 new Bridgestone tires mounted balanced with tax and everything for less that 2k. Front tires did not need replacing they are only 4 years old with 30k miles.
