Re: Class Winners Indy 2009
At Indy, they tore down the A stick winner among others. I wold say that the dudes that have the Mustangs can probably afford to bring a "crew". I am not sure if tear down voids the "factory Warranty" though.
Of course Brett McFarland was the Champ there!

I'm about 95 percent sure that you cant remove either head or the pan with that engine in a car. Its HUGE, makes a Hemi look small

Re: Class Winners Indy 2009
The Classification guide has the '08 Mustang coupe at a factor of 7.62, and the convertible at 7.82 which makes them both "natural" AA cars. They can move down to A, but they definitely can't move down to B.

Re: Class Winners Indy 2009
If pulling a head is in the future, don't look for many of the fords to go fast. I work on similar engines at work and believe me it is time consuming. Showing up torn down for inspection may be an option but I'd think it would be a monumental undertaking to tear down then put back for eliminator. JMO Joe For what it's worth for all those who believe these cars really are that fast I guess they may just show their hand.

Re: Class Winners Indy 2009
I think they are made just like the Ford Superduty trucks. you don't take out the engine to work on it, you just pull the body off the frame.

Larry,
I agree on Mustang in A/SA, but I like the 1969 models. Steve |
