Same carb(1.21)/valves(2.06)/intake and lift is like .406 to .428 compared to the 351M so I think it'd be better.

351 blueprints under 9:1 compression; 400 is 9.7. 50 more cubic inches.

OK. Both the 351M & 400M use the same size 2bbl (1.686/1.21 ) the same heads with the same valves. The 351 has a little over 8 1/2:1 compression & the 400M a little under 9 1/4:1. Yeah the cams are different but with what cam grinders can do these days, I think that's pretty much a wash. (probably wrong).

The 75 & 74 460"s The valves, cams are the same the compression's are similar But as Billy reminded us:

351vs400 I just figure with the same top end the smaller cubes it's got to be fed better. Same as a 302 is ok but the 351W is a pig cause it uses the same head/valves.

50 cubes in that case is a detriment not a bonus.
A point in compression is obviously nothing to sneeze at either, but there are more factors in the 351's favour than the 400's.

The 460 is just cool regardless

anyone notice the wing on that gt/fa car....I'm no ford expert but? also I have a
1979 ranchero..wonder how that would hook up with a 460...
