Good ratchet tie downs
Who makes good ones? Any US made? I bought some cheaper ones a few years back and they are fraying up. I remember there used to be a company that also paid contingency at the midway but can't remember who it was.

Re: Good ratchet tie downs
I use Erichson brand, I would assume they are us made. After 10 years of being used on an open trailer they still work great and haven't frayed or given me a reason to replace them.

Re: Good ratchet tie downs
I have had good luck with the Jegs brand straps. Not sure where they are made. You have to make sure that they are not chaffing on any part of the car or trailer or they will fray.

I also use the Erickson brand, which I believe is a Canadian company, but I`m not sure if they are actually made here. Just be aware that the rated load and safe operating rating are drastically different for ratchet straps.

Re: Good ratchet tie downs
I have used some of the MAC's ratchet straps. Those are very nice.

I've been very happy with the service I've gotten from M&R Supply. You can custom order many different lengths, styles and even colors! Very fast shipping as well!
