Boys and girls, we are back! Just reinstalled a brand new transmission curtesy of Scot Lamar last night with the help from my dad and some mountain dew. After flushing the converter once more in a fashion described by Mark's ghost writer, we threw everything back together and got it running again. I hopped in it and took it off jackstands to drive it around the block. Seems to have all 3 forward gears now! I'll get my broken trans torn apart soon and diagnosed. Would like to avoid a similar mishap in the future. If the weather holds out, I'll try to test on Sunday and make sure all is well!

I think that's gonna be a winter time project. Everyone whom I've spoken to absolutely swears by them so I have no doubt they are faster. I'll have to save up to get one, Scot made me a deal on this new Turbo 350 that I just couldn't turn down. Once I get my other one fixed, I'll have two basically brand new transmissions which is awesome. I've never really had a spare anything. Also a bonus is this transmission has a reverse pattern valve body unlike my other one, which is nice as that is what my shifter is set up to work with.

I don't have the money to get yet another transmission/converter combo, but I'll save up some this year, maybe win a little, and see about it at the end of the year, thank you for the advice!

Dawson werked me too late. so i was all jacked up on mt.dew and then couldn't sleep last night. and got rust in my eye from being under this ride. so a trip to the eye dr is in order.

the boy won't quit and said for somebody to save him a sppot at gainesville. i told him he has to park with stocker dudes now and warm up at daylight somewhere else.

ep-thanks again to everyone who has helped. especially Scott Lamar for the trans. Lamar is an awesome dude.

Yep, Scot's a pretty good old turd. And you can tell him I said so.

Thomas Arnett in Kentucky should be able to hook you up with a good 200 Metric when you're ready. Have him set it up so that it accepts the same torque converter as a TH350.

Hopefully this is the last time I have to post in this thread, I'm going to move the rest of my updates to my build thread. Took the car out to my local strip, Shadyside Dragway. It ran pretty much the same thing it did before the old tranny fragged. Managed an 8.02, 7.97, and an 8.01, which gets me comfortably under the index. Probably good for .25-.30 under in the quarter I would imagine. Also hit the tree decent, best I have since I got the car. .032, .008, and .023. Pretty happy with that, hoping to keep it rolling into bby gators this week. Only thing that really concerns me is the middle run where it picked up .05 out of nowhere. I really didn't change anything between the 3 runs other than cooling the water temp an extra 10 degrees or so and going up from 20.5 psi to 23 in the rear tires. Don't love that inconsistency but happy for the speed. It's going to take time and lots of notes before I really get the car predictable and all, but that's nothing new to me. My Mazda is pretty finicky too, but I managed a national event win in it last year, so I think I can get this new car under control before the end of the year. Thanks all for the help! And I'll look the fella up maybe end of this year, Alan R.
