Default towing in Michigan

Topic of discussion during chassis certs yesterday. Any truth to the matter that a CDL is now required to tow any trailer in the state of Michigan? One guy said something about old guys pulling their travel trailer? Race car trailers?

Doubt it.
CDL required over 26,001 is federal law.

Anything over 10,001 is supposed to have DOT#'s and follow some FMCSA rules.

I came across this.... there is a "R" endorsement need to pull "doubles"

A recreational double is a pickup truck pulling a fifth-wheel trailer, designed for recreational living purposes, with a second trailer attached to the rear of the fifth-wheel trailer. The pickup truck must have a towing rating equal to, or greater than, the weight being towed.
