Re: "Live" from Atlanta National
That was a wild first round. Lots of upsets. Two great runs by championship caliber drivers.

And Fletcher went one-and-out in both Stock and Super Stock. Don't see that very often, and one of the losses was to Slate Cummings, who seems to be making a habit of beating up on Fletcher lately.

Re: "Live" from Atlanta National
Final session of pros is almost complete. Sportsmen coming out next. We are scheduled to run to completion or as long as the track permits. There is no rain in the forecast, but track temperature could be an issue.

Re: "Live" from Atlanta National
Well, the rain arrived early this morning and it looks like it will be here all day.

The weather radar is very ugly - nothing severe, just lots of it.

Re: "Live" from Atlanta National
Sportsmen are done for the day. The rain has gone and track drying is underway. The plan is to get a round or two of pros in tonight. Tomorrow will start off at 9 am with sportsmen.

Re: "Live" from Atlanta National
Just when you think only the sportsmen get the sh!+ end of the stick look at the DRC "Done for the day" post.
They tried running TopFuel, nobody could get down the track so they gave it up half way but results of those side by side smokefests stand. |

Re: "Live" from Atlanta National
Poor decision by NHRA, trying to give the diehard fans with Monday morning jobs and school something to see. Can't believe they'd let the runs stand, but hey, none of the DSR cars got screwed so all is ok, yea right. Don, John, and Connie take their toys home and NHRA folds like a circus tent. And while I'm on a negative rant it sure was nice when Summit sponsored DRC fully so we could get all the Divisionals, Nats, N.O.'s, etc. Clear and concise reporting of the day's racing activity, is that really too much to ask? Emails and phone calls to Summit all went unanswered when all this got hashed out on a couple of threads, guess that's what they think of my business.
