Cragar "Super Trick" wheels, tubeless?
A little while ago, I picked up a nice pair of the old Cragar Super Trick wheels, 15x12" wide. I`m thinking of using them for an extra set of slicks I have, but I was wondering if they can be used without tubes, or are they likely to leak? I normally run 14x32`s on 14" wide Centerlines on my bracket car, but I want to try some 13x31`s to get some trap RPM back from a gear ratio change recently made. Any opinions if I should mount them on the 12`s, or should I just stick them on my 14" wide rims, which work fine without the (heavy) tubes?

If you remove the sealant where the two halfs come together and reseal them and ad a sealer spray around the inside they will work very well tubeless. Yes take the wheel apart to reseal.

Re: Cragar "Super Trick" wheels, tubeless?
I still use a set of polished Super Tricks on the rear of my SS/EM car. They are 15 x 14. We use silicone to seal them up and have been running them tubeless for years. They are very lite and compare weight wise to Weld Aluma Stars That I also have a pair of.

If you put 13'' wide tires on 14'' wheel tire will not grow as much and slightly raise finish line RPM
13'' wide tires on 12'' wheels they will grow more and slightly lower RPM at finish line. Mike Taylor 3601 |
