Default 2020 Winternationals - Entries

Could the past World Champions please hold off on entering National Events until the last week so other people can enter, they won't have more than 64 entries, so you don't have to worry about a 7 round race, Thank You, Fred Moreno

There will be more than 64 -- IMHO (in my humble opinion)

I still say all provisional entries shouldn't count towards the quota.

I agree Bob, but first things first, how do we get NHRA to listen to that proposal and how many years do the past world champions have to get into national events without grade points

Ever heard the story of the champ who forgot to enter a race?

I don't fault them for entering when they have a chance.

But by the same token if I was trying to get into a national event I would sure appreciate it if they held off until the last minute.

Let's go with Bob's idea and ask our representative to ask NHRA to not include provisionals into the quota and see if that is possible

It wouldn't change anything. They would then reduce the quota amount to account for it. Bottom line, 6 round races seem to be the preferred approach, regardless of how you get there.

Personally, I don't mind the reduced quotas if it helps run the race on schedule. It stinks to make two runs in the morning, sit all day, then run three more rounds late at night.
