Thumbs down Assoc. racer at Orlando Speed World

I was just wondering WHY were are having a race at the south orlando track? Is Orlando Speed World now off limits. I just see it as a slap to Carl's face by having a race at his in town competitor. Wheather you like Carl or not, this is just not good bussiness

Jim, I have known Carl for over 30 years. And would never "slap" him in the face. In the discussions I have had with him he seems to have a good working relationship with the new tracks owner. We don't offer tracks great financial gains by having us race at their tracks. Carl is a business man. Also OSW's schedule is hard to work with. I would love to have a race there, maybe we can. It took many months of planning to put together the big money race we had there last year. If you want to discuss this with me please give me a call. 386-717-4000. Jim

Angry Re: Assoc. racer at Orlando Speed World

Nobody is slapping anyone in the face. Carl is a friend to all of us and to the association. As a matter of fact he was given first priority when it came to the 2010 schedule, so far he has not decided , so we went ahead with the schedule, when he decides , then he will let us know, until then we move forward, geesh, the harder we work to try to keep the association going , the more complaints we get, maybe things were better without having an ssssa? I guess its time for new leadership. ( then somebody else can see how easy it is to please everyone)

We practice at the new 1/8th mile track in Orlando and it hooks. the shutdown is short for us at 132mph. but the the owners and starters are happy to see you when you come in the gate. and go around asking what they can improve on.

There is an old adage that I learned in the street racing days:

"Shut up and race!"
