Todd and Autumn: Lots of us looking forward to following your progress. You have lots of support here...several of us were talking about your project at our M.C.R. Stock/Super Stock race last weekend at Onawa, Iowa.

Don't leave us hangin' out here ! -Al (still a garden hose drinker).

Al, you've been like an internet pen pal, keeping me going in a positive direction! I've had phone calls from more than a few on here that have truly helped me out bigtime, even some international calls. Super positive for me in my "excercise in parenting".

Got my temper tantrum out of the way, so lets get back to work . We're gonna try to get something done this week and had a positive start today. Chamfered all the bores and holes in the deck, in the washer, then cam bearings. Back in the washer for the final time then put to bed till tomorrow.

I think all the big parts are here, maybe a couple little ones left but we may see a little tiny glimmer of light near the end of the tunnel... lets hope it's not another train! Crank is re-balanced and a few odds-n-ends wrapped up, hopefully tomorrow some ring grinding.

It's been a good week to be able to spend a little time away from work. Today I assumed some ring grinding would go on but I realized I hadn't ordered head gaskets, so got the crank cleaned and installed then threw a couple rods and pistons in for some measurements. Ordered some head gaskets, removed rods and pistons, measured all the pin bores, started cleaning, then started installing rods on pistons. Here's a pic dump in no particular order... because without pictures these threads blow.

I noticed you're using a 0010 block, just to let you know that I've had 2 of those blocks spring pin hole leaks in the cylinders. I use nothing but after market blocks now for that reason. Just some information and I hope you don't run into that problem.

Thanks Casey. At this point, nothing would suprise me. If it does leak I'll probably Blue Devil it and run the snot out of it. About 2009, the economy had hit us hard, lost 1 business and the other was teetering off the cliff, we had to get rid of most of our employees and I was working 80+ hours a week to survive and living with my mother in law. I drove a 1994 Nissan Altima and it was overheating on the way home from work at about 1:00 AM, I was over everything and kept on driving, overheated so bad it cracked the head and was pumping water straight out the tailpipe. I removed the thermostat and put that blue devil stuff in, after about an hour running the water started to dry up in the exhaust and I drove that car for another 2 years, scrapped it about a year ago. I'll try it on the stocker if its a leaker.

Last four pistons on the rods, cam bearings checked and cam installed to make sure it's a smooth rotator, Autumn got the rings filed and installed the oil rings without dropping a piston on the floor (I was nervous). Autumn has decided to embark on a little business venture and will market using YouTube and the racing so we're doing a little video taping now also which slows progress just a bit but it should be interesting with this kid.
