Need help on stripped carb threads....
is there a company who makes taps and heli-coils to repair the threads on a q-jet main body? i remember someone posted a site that had squirter thread repair kits for holleys also, any help at all is much appreciated!

Are you talking about the fuel inlet? For the fuel inlet you need a Helicoil Carburetor Thread Repair Kit, 7/8-20 (5549-14) It requires a 57/64 (.891") drill. The extra inserts (7/8-20 x .330) are P/N K318-14-1. Places like Tool Source carry them.

sorry, i need to fix the holes that hold the top of the carb on the body, small 10/32's maybe? another friend replied about the loc-tite repair kits also. wade o |

These threads are easy to repair with heli-coil kits. The two holes where the screws go that are located inside the choke horn are 8-32, and all of the others are 10-32. Let me know if you need some help. Dean |
