Well I ran the 283
First pass was a 8.75. Lets say I wasnt happy. lol I need a carb in a bad way. I do know this. It felt like I had something in the way of the footpedal. Lol I had the bracket that the idle screw hits on backwards and wasnt getting full throttle. I got it switch around and it went 8.166 then backed it with a 8.159.
I am happy with the first outing. I just stuck a coan 20505 shelf converter in and it felt tight. I figured it would be to loose. I shifted @6700 and my rpms was dropping backto 48 49 hundred.I have the playback tach but dont know how to work it. I am going to put a auto camshaft in and test it. This was a stickshift camshaft this week. Back to the carb I got the q jet to danny ashley who is the man on the rochester?? What about torque converters? Any used stuff out there that could help me save a buck?? Thanx class racer friends |

He raced one of them fancy pants V-10 cars in the CIC and showed him nothing but taillights! I bet that there aren't any other 283 racers that have done that! Good one to get advice from!

Re: Well I ran the 283
I appreciate all the help. Wade for sure got it going on. I will be taking his advice without question. Hopefully a camshaft converter and carb I may be able to hit a nhra divisional this year. I didnt really think I would be this far on the budget I am on.
