I did'nt read all 14 pages just skimmed through it. My observation.
1) It's about time Chevy!
2) It's not how many COPO they sale. It's about how many v-6 stripped down models they will now sale at the dealer. Remember "Win on Sunday sale on Monday"
3) I agree they should be in their own classification in Stock Eliminator. IHRA does that now.
4) Stock Eliminator is Still Bracket racing as long as Shoe Polish is Allowed. If you don't want it called that run it like COMP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had back to back heads-up runs at Indy this year.....no shoe polish involved.

Mike, people that keep repeating that either don't actually race with us, or are afraid of heads-ups so found a class with very little participation.

Ed,
I ran IHRA Stock from 2002-2008. Had a pretty good record too. Won the division and finished Top Ten in the world 3 times. I ran a crate motor car which in div 9 are very popular classes.
My first year I dodged everybody and played the ladder. My second year I had 2 heads up lost 1 and won 1. 2004 forward I had 6 Headsup and won them all. With all the passes I made I think 6 heads up runs was a very small percentage.
In my opinion it's still a BRACKET RACE if you put a dial in on it.

Chip I won the NHRA D3 championship in Stock in 2007 and I think I had 6 or 7 heads up round wins that year in E/SA. Without those round wins I wouldn't have been close.

Big difference is you have to be able to make one run fast enough to at least run the indexes, which are way too soft. IHRAs are even worse by 3/10ths. That leaves most bracket racers out.

Yes indexes are way too soft. But so are some of the horsepower factors. Right now Stock and Super Stock are a joke. Good luck to the players. Wanna get rid of it all??? Make the jump to comp. Easier than you think.

Not all indexes are soft.....
Try ringing out a 283 stocker .
I know there are some fast ones on here, but in NHRA my combo would be lucky to go 5tenths under....
Don't tell me to work on it ,because i have and i have had some wonderful help on this site as well. I love stock and do not have the big funds to do all the tricks ,just the little tricks and a few of them at the time.
I am not complaining because i am very happy with what i have accomplished with what little i started with.
Thanks to all that have helped.
