Cool Tire question

What's the difference between a D06 compound and a D07 in a 9.00X15X30 Hoosier slick?

Greg,
Believe that the D07 is the "firmer" compound for stick applications.
At the bottom of the Drag Racing section of the Hoosier tire specification sheet, they illustrate a spectrum of compound designations from soft to firm.

Those would be bias ply,radials start with a "C".With Hoosiers the lower the number the softer the compound.The 30.0 X 9 # 18200 seems to come in a DO5 or DO7.While the 29.0 x 9 #18160 comes in a DO6 or DO7. gsa612

The 9" radial comes in C06 or C07. The C06 is a little bit softer, and is only available in the tires designated as 'lightweight'. I assume that lightweight also means 'might be a little quicker but won't last as long'.

I always use the C07 18210, and love that tire. 125-150 passes.
