Lets say you have two converters that flash 5000 RPM, that doesn't mean both converters flash to 5000 RPM with the same drag, the ideal situation with a foot brake car is too have a very free converter to its flash, then lock as efficient as possible, while being as light weight as possible at the same time. My own Chevelle had this same problem, until the converter was close to being dialed, on the two step at 2500 RPM the front would want to top out, playing with different converters put a stop to the problem.

How loose of converter would you try behind a 396 325 car our converter now flashes to 5200 Jeff taylor sent the dyno sheet to have my converter matched? it does flash to 5200

Look to the best working GM A body stockers over the past 10+ years, cars like Kevin Bordstrom's B/SA '69 Chevelle and Jason Line's C/SA GS Buick and you find the answer to your question. It's ain't in the converter!

You need to test converters, and fine tune the converter, or turn the two step down, for optimum results. What gear stack do you run, and trans?

Tesz powell has a chevell the same year of course its a bracket car but stock suspension . His car did the same exact thing I want to say the did something with the front end. put something upside down . I am not sure thats what i am fishing for. I dont think I want to change converters just yet. I cant post pics but I bet Micheal beard has tesz car at piedmont .
