Default TNT Super Series double event this weekend at Dunn Tire Raceway Park

Separate races both Friday and Saturday

The Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series rolls into Dunn Tire Raceway Park (DTRP) this weekend for its first-ever double event in the United States. "We're pretty excited to have two events in one weekend at DTRP," said Ted Barnes, TNT Series Director. "We've had 28 cars here in the past and expect to have a strong turnout on both days."

The events set for Friday July 3 and Saturday July 4 will be presented by Steve's Electric Co and mark the start of the second half of the Joe's Transmission TNT Super Series twelve race season. Steve McCarrick, owner of Steve's Electric, has been a regular in TNT competition since the series began three years ago and is a strong supporter of the series, its partners and its racers. "Steve has been behind the idea of the TNT series since I mentioned it to him four years ago at an IHRA national event - well before our first event even took place," commented Ted. "We're very excited to have Steve's Electric back as a returning sponsor."

Picking up his first TNT win at the recent June 13th event, Steve currently sits 10th in the standings. Other winners in the highly competitive sportsman series so far this year include Gary Kerl (Williamsville, NY), Jamie Stoneman (Cheektowaga, NY), Sam Lovetro Jr (Webster, NY), and Paul Young (Alden, NY). With 39 racers in the 2009 points chase, things are poised to change. In fact, there were three new names in the top ten after the most recent double event at Cayuga Dragway.

One competitor on a roll is David Surmatchewski of Oakland, Ontario. Dave has gone multiple rounds - including a final round appearance - in every TNT event he's attended this year.

Steve's Electric Co is located on Griffith Rd in Phelps, New York. In business since 1976, they do commercial, farming, industrial & residential electrical work along with complete installation, maintenance & repair. Call Steve and his team at (315) 548-9340.

Featured this weekend at DTRP are alcohol funny cars, nostalgia funny cars and the gasser gang on Friday night. Saturday will have a double payout to each of the winners in their bracket classes. Gates open at 3pm on Friday and 10am on Saturday. Visit www.dunntireracewaypark.com for details.
