Put my son in car today. First time.
Well I survived his first 3 passes in car and honestly he did great. I left it on the throttle stop and he went 11:00 off the trailer with a decent burnout. 2 nd pass he was much more comfortable in the burnout, I let it eat a little low end and he went 10.34@120 with a 1.24 60 ft. Last shot I put the car on a .90 he went 10.82@146 and I got a call from the tower. All in all much better than I hoped and now we can get his license next week.

Gary-
I did the same thing with my youngest last fall, a pretty neat experience for sure. Be careful though, that hook sets DEEP! -Don |

Gary -- wait til u graduate to bitching them out 'cause they took four inches too much stripe or went red by 2 thou... (can u tell our daughter is running in Jr's now??)
How quickly we forget all the mistakes we've made. Just don't be telling your son that secret Super Street setup u gave me for the Chevy II Scott |

Don't to forget to tell him how proud you are of him the first time the car gets loose and he lifts. When that happens you'll know he's driving with his head and not just his foot. It does get a little easier to watch after a while but you never completely stop worring. At least I can't.

Re: Put my son in car today. First time.
Crossed that bridge on 1st pass, had the car on the stop, when it came off it broke the tires loose, he was out of it immediately and the first thing I praised him on was his awareness to get off throttle. Now he just needs seat time. You are absolutely right.
