Default Re: 2 step pressure switch question

When I went to Super Stock, with a trans brake, mine is enabled with my Trans Brake button. Brakes at the finish line has no effect.

When I was foot braking, I had a spring loaded-to-off toggle switch on my shifter, that was "On" only when the lever was in low gear. I used brake light switch on the pedal, up under the dash on these F body cars, to energize the 2 step. Very trouble free deal.

When I had a two step in Stock, we used a MSD Window Switch for activation and at the end, there was no function. You only have to put the brakes on once at the top end and have the two step come on to figure something out.

Harrington button in place of brake light switch. Adjust it far enough that you have to be on the brakes really hard to trigger it

The factory brake light switch on F body GM cars like mine are also adjustable, a tad over an inch of adjustability.

Would anyone be willing to tell me exactly which in line brake switch they use? There are so many options I am completely confused. I need to get one ordered ASAP. PM me if you don't want the world to know.

I have a few questions, do you feel the two step helps 1- your ETs 2- your relaction times 3- your launch or just its less trouble maintaining a certain launch rpm? Is it more critical with a short stroke engine than a bigger one.

2 and 3 for me. Only used on the stock stroke 355SBC I run so I can't comment on other engines. I feel it makes RT's better and more consistent because of set RPM and one less thing to think about.

This basically the switch I use, mine is a Borg Warner from local parts store.
