I believe Jerico has discontinued the DR4 and only offer the DR4-4 now. Also they no longer offer the top and bottom cover cases. When I got my DR4 in 2007, Scott did not feel there was any reason for me to get the -4 at my power level, but he did recommend the high quality aluminum top loader case that I believe is now standard. He said that the GM 26 spline input is a bit stronger than the 18 splline hemi input, and the input nose is .25" longer than stock to fit the pilot bearing better with the bellhousing's block plate.

X3 on the G-Force. Split case design and changing gears are a piece of cake. Make sure you get it setup to read input shaft RPM no matter what trans.

FWIW,
G-Force also sells reconditioned transmissions. They are not as expensive and you pick your gear ratios. If something is worn, it is replaced.

If you get a Jerico they have a much better deal with an input shaft sensor being internal. Otherwise it's a magnet inserted into the input shaft and the sensor mounts to the candlestick. Setting the clutch and seeing what and how the clutch is responding cuts down on the seat of the pants trial and error. So if you do not already have a data acquisition system it's money well spent.

Oh yeah, the new DR4 rev 4 ( or whatever the heck they're calling it ! ), will break the bank now.
Yes, better look at G Force as well.

I have no data logging system as of yet.

I do not know if something has changed, but Scott told me back in 1997 when I purchased mine, the 18 spline hemi imput was stronger.

I just went through all this. I was quoted 4400.00 for a G101a G Force with shifter. So that's what your looking at with them. That was a reman not new. I got a CL4-4 Clutchless but I run SS. These things have gotten out of hand on price. Good luck.

Talking Re: Ordering New Transmission, but What Gears ?

Well.. I didn't get the transmission ordered on time for Mission Instead, went on the big European cruise ship, and another 7 days in Italy. hey... wasn't so bad:
( in Venice, view from the dock at our hotel )

Also, I got the first batch of my single plane 4 barrel 348/409 intakes machined and shipped !

So, I'm finally ordering my new Jerico this week. Looks like I'll go with the 3.19 first gear, running with the theory that I can launch at a lower RPM, and use the engine and the light flywheel to accelerate the car.

Thank you again, for all the help

Nice looking intakes!
I think you made the right choice on gear. It will offer you more options as to adaptability. You can jack it up or down & even go overboard on a track with teeth!! It also has some good points with clutch adjustment. It also offers a better % of drop between gears to take advantage of you engines capabilities. Good luck.
Ed, have you priced or bought a new Proflite, Coan or any other name tranny. Not cheap either!

Aubrey

You may still be able to make it to Mission.

There are delays and event rescheduling as BCCCA deals with the technical issues of the track resurfacing.
