Re: Lifters
Guys,
I know we have beat this subject to death but let me add my perspective to this. There is a solution and is proven to work as demonstrated by the results over the years. My dads (Professor Rock) ceramic based coating on lifters (and cams) has been used for years and is an effective solution to this. He can supply Topline Johnson Hy-lift lightweight solid lifters (Made in USA) coated with a ceramic based low-friction and wear reducing coating. Want a recommendation? Ask Chris at Bullit about him and the coating and how effective it is. See more info at his FB page www.facebook.com/rocketmanraceceramics Thanks, just offering the solution.

Re: Lifters
If you?re not using a billet cam, and don?t want to break the bank for a set of lifters, I have had good luck with Clay Smith lifters. They are made in the USA, are reasonably priced (about $250 per set), and have broken in very nicely for me for the 3 sets I?ve used so far. At the end of the season the cam lobes and lifters still look like new.

Re: Lifters
Just broke in a flat tappet (comp) cam with a set of off the shelf comp lifters. Slathered on the EOS (gm engine oil supplement) 50# seat pressure and 35minutes at 2200-2500. Worried they might not break in with that low of pressure but they did.
Oh, 120 or something like that over the nose.

Re: Lifters
Steel cam & Lifters- Cam manufacturer recommends coating of some kind on one or both.
