Default Magnum Heads.....will smaller LA valves fit?

Any Mopar/engine gurus know whether old LA valves will fit with or without drama and rework in a mangnum head?

P5155469 is a SS legal head now, magnum heads valves are stock 1.92 and 1.625

LA heads are 1.88 and 1.6

Thought I would ask, as the endlebrock heads obviously need a lot of work to go from the 2.02 down to 1.88.

Thanks

Eric

Default Re: Magnum Heads.....will smaller LA valves fit?

Eric....I had a set of the Edelbrocks done for a Magnum....2.02 down to

1.92...just made it....but I had to change the guides to 8mm since

the edelbrocks are 11/32... the main issue you will have to

discuss with NHRA is if you can change the stem size of the

valve or whether you will have to change the guide size to match

the earlier 3/8 valve stem of the LA valves....in stock they said I

had to keep the valve stem the same as OEM, superstock.. I don't

know......I would think that going from a 1.92 to a 1.88 valve

diameter might work fine since you are you only talking a .040

difference since mine was reduced by .100........the valve stem

issue comes up because the P5155469 head has an 8mm guide

diameter
