I was told on my last time there after the movement in at 7 AM and the boondoggle that took place "if you do not like our organization of move in you can just leave and just don't come back" so I took the Track Managers advice. I will never go back to race there. Sometimes you just can not give a suggestion to someone who has already decided they always know what is best for you. They seem to forget who the customer is in the situation. Sounds like a politician to me. My 2 Cents Rick Cates Canyon, TX Last edited by 63corvette; 02-20-2018 at 11:17 AM. |

Re: Wild Horse Stock Full @ 3 g.p.
The Boondoggle getting into Wild Horse pass is getting ready to be a mess there are rigs lined up on off ramp,at the Flying J across the freeway,at The mcdonalds across the freeway from the track jammed up on the freeway itself and the casino is full with the security guards up set because the parking lots are a mess all the racers will be trying to go to the next parking area through one ten foot gate off one of the busiest roads in the valley Maricopa with people trying to go the work then tomorrow go into the dirty pits Watch there will be a accident , sad way to run business all for no reason this could be orderly manner and a happy experience but it is not.
The mess starts at 7am Arizona time

Re: Wild Horse Stock Full @ 3 g.p.
First report A friend of mine was abut 15th in line he said it was unbelievable as he will be last, he said rigs driving over shrubs ,curbs, blocking streets he said it was absolute insanity . So far thank goodness no wrecks yet. I am wondering who is liable??? of course i know. The pathetic situation I have been for Years offering a orderly ,logical and customer oriented way to stack with no one listening to me > guess I was not a very good Sales person with nobody concerned about the Racer safe enjoyable, orderly experience which includes all of the decision makers who do not care and who are in charge

Re: Wild Horse Stock Full @ 3 g.p.
Ok the latest the rigs are now in the second holding area not in the pits a boondoggle also My friend cannot get his truck unhooked ,no Portal potties and dirt and fine sand rigs look like crap being dusty every where,no organization Remember this is the second holding area .All this can be avoided if they would do what i have been trying to get the decision makers to do for years so the attendance by racer dwindles and the "mess" gets worse

Re: Wild Horse Stock Full @ 3 g.p.
Don I raced there many years ago and could tell when I visited out there for BJ and stayed for the divisional 4 years ago that not much had changed for the better. When we were at Usery Mountain county RV park in Mesa last May (a nice place BTW if you don't need frills) I wandered down there for their bracket program and looked like they had a good turnout but how everybody was spread all over in order to get a decent parking place is incredible. Can hardly imagine what a circus the National must be. And yes, you shared your stacking proposal with me and apparently it made too much sense, otherwise NHRA would have convinced the players involved to adopt it.
Hope they have a good race in any case, probably no live reports unless Yo Ken can entice someone.

Re: Wild Horse Stock Full @ 3 g.p.
Don't forget to include National Opens for grade point accumulations. It would be possible, here in southwest Div.7, to go twice to Vegas for divisional, Fontana for the Open(usually a fun time), and later the Divisional at Fontana. I'm glad they host any kind of race for us at all, since so many tracks won't anymore. It will be interesting to see what happens next year with the Utah track gone. Maybe the double race weekend will be moved closer to home. Best way to make a way through a bad thing is to figure out a way through it. More National Opens in Div.7 would be nice!!

Re: Wild Horse Stock Full @ 3 g.p.
I am not throwing anyone under the Bus > all i am trying to do is stop the insane way of parking into wild horse pass. I most likely will never run there a gain just trying to make racing there a common sense way. no one ever gave me any special attention I had to be the one first in line .lol Good luck racing Mike

Re: Wild Horse Stock Full @ 3 g.p.
It seems every year this same topic comes up , stacking problems, the bowl, ect . The same personnel at the track I'm sure hearing the same complaints year after year. Chuck is trying to do a good job, a thankless job but without his bosses giving him the ok it is what it is. The race will happen regardless , most racers know what they are getting into and by seeing most classes full that speaks for itself. Don't get me wrong there is room for improvement .....Just an outsiders view from the outside, but this is one of my home tracks...SO I may be bias...LOL
PS . This summer they laid down chip sealer over the pit paved surface...
