Default Manifold Mayhem

Yes, it's old news but since the Edelbrock LD340 is legal for 1968-70 340 Stock Eliminator applications, wouldn't the same logic apply in allowing the DP4B for the 383 and CH4B on the 440 as acceptable intakes?

While we're at it, the 426 HEMI Rat Roaster intake carries a Chrysler PN. so theoretically is should be legal in Stock, correct?

The Genie is out of the bottle now and is not coming down the return road anytime soon.

I know, now it makes building a legal 340 Stocker even more expensive.

How about if the manifold had to look stock on the out side. Any things goes inside. One less thing for tech to check.

I think they ought to pick a manifold that is still in production, something under $300. I'd think the Edelbrock Performer might work good for the 273-4 and the 1970s 318-4 combos. I think the ports are too small for a 340 or 360.

Chrysler has replacement Street Hemi intakes available, and A&A makes the crossrams for the Hemi and MW engines. I'm not sure if the A&A repros are already legal? Do they have the OEM casting numbers in them?

I think the price of LD340s doubled since they became legal. I'd be in favor of aftermarket intakes that are in production for all brands. We all have to pay crazy prices for OEM iron intakes. I was able to find an LD4B for a 273 Mopar and haven't found the OEM iron one close to me. Shipping an iron intake adds enough cost to where the aluminum one was cheaper for me.

I got both DP4B & CH4B but I need the LD340, saw one for $900. I have a "good" stock one but if the car comes in a little heavy might have to bite the bullet. $7-900 for intake then more $$ getting it up to working order. 60 pounds off the front would be good though.
Bound to be worth a hundred HP right
