NESSA Race 1 in the books

Hello everyone out there...We got in our first race of the season this past weekend, despite Mother Nature keeping us freezing at night and trying to blow us away with wind gusts saturday during the day.
We had 18 cars enter, which was great considering the weather and a few racers that were not able to make it with us.

Gary "Ice Cream Man" Federico in the big bad Black Buick took the #1 qualifier position..

Racing thru all the rounds was close as usual and the windy conditions made the racing interesting...it was also a rough day on some of the competitors on parts as defending series champ Ray Butler lost a trans, Jerry Pierce also lost a trans and Dave Steltz lost the engine in his car.

The final ended up with Tim "Turnip" Steltz racing Ken "Limpy" Van Gorder...At that point in the day the track was a little loose and so were the cars !!!! Tim managed to fight it a little bit better and came out with the Win...So congrats to Tim on the win and Ken on the runner-up, great way to open the season..Also congrats to first time competitor Pete Valente and his semi finish.
