Re: copo at the classic
that is not what I meant at all Bruce.New Muscle cars help keep the muscle car spirit alive. When I was a kid muscle cars were in full bloom.the Big Three had several versions. Then we lost that and now it is back.the younger generation has their own versions of muscle car now and not just the older ones we enjoyed and still enjoy. It will keep the muscle car spirit fresh.

Ok, I see, so you are not keeping the spirit alive, but you are keeping it fresh.

Re: copo at the classic
Do all the COPO's still run a 9x29" rear slick?
Thanks Dom |

Re: copo at the classic
I thought the issue lied with the chamber design not being as FI friendly causing pre-ignition taking out the head gaskets. I don't have much experience with FI LSs through because they ran so well NA on and off nitrous and had no room to stuff a blower/turbo under the hood of the GM cars.
Is there head warpage issues? The early B-head 4 valve modulars had that issue with some mileage on them. Both the cars use MLS gaskets so that would make sense.

Re: copo at the classic
The chamber design leaves a lot to be desired, but the casting bending under cylinder pressure is a major issues. I know this is different but the Dura Max has same problem when the cals are changed.

Re: copo at the classic
Pretty much what we found. One customer (not real sharp) had his block & heafs machined for 5/8" studs. He had a turbo with a lot of boost. All he accomplished was more block and head deck distortion when he torqued them. Actually pushed gaskets out sooner. Tried to tell him, but he was still in his 20s. I remember being in my 20s. Life was simpler when I has all the answers. LOL
