I took a few pics of the 60 to show you what it looks like now, it's painted 61 corvette fawn beige with a creme cove, I hope to have it together by spring but we'll see. The 66 is an ex modified car that we have been working on for a couple years now & it's close, you should see it in super stock come spring....

Don't ever change the wheels on the '60. Those polished Cragar Super Tricks are perfect in my book,,, ran a set on my black '66 Nova in the '70s. People loved them,, me too.

Hey all,
I had the time so I worked over some classic 1990 US Nationals video here.
This is the true gearhead era... note the extra pit space!
This was probably the last really great Indy for modified.
Its mostly stick SS and Modified from the top gear bashers of the day.
Lee Otis, Taylor, Calder, FJ Smith, Don Wolf, Larry Pritchett, Scotter Anderson, Willie McLemore, Stokes, Yamarino, Barforth, Bridges, Ronnie Smith, and more.
Cary Menard is announcing most of Round 1, and he's just great on the ears.
Note that there was no S/C on the grounds in 1990.

So there are two parts to this video, It was apparently broken in two after 14 minutes.
Here is the end of round 1 class and the rest is round 2, and some extras.
Cary Menard is announcing most of Round 1, and he's just great on the ears.
The audio is pretty awesome here, good enough to get Kubrick awards someday!
I hope you diehards enjoy this.

Don, you always took the best videos! Keep uploading them! I still have some of your old vhs tapes from the 90's! If you ever do box sets in DVD format, count me in!

Fawn beige is easily the best color on early Corvettes. Beautiful work, as always. Can't wait to see 'em..... -Al

Been following this thread for awhile and was thinking about the old IHRA days of Modified, with names like Mark Osborne and bro. Ted Osborne and ofcourse Gene Fulton and Strawberry Dixion and Kenny Melton, and Dane Pearson and the Papa Smurf corvette out of Kent. can't get his name in my head, these guys could rake a good old Doug Nash and keepem whinnding all day, the heavy flywheels are the best, oh almost forgot my friend Steve McCrearys beautiful Dog Gone Vette, man those where the days.............................................. ................................................ ...............................

Doug,

The '60 is stunning, just like all of your cars. You have outdone yourself again!

What class and combo are you going to run in the mid-year SS car? Do you have any pics of the SS/Mod '57 you had a year ago that you can post? That was a masterpiece as well.
