Default TRUstart tried at LVMS

First pass on Sunday the LVMS track used the
TRUstart system. It worked without any glitches
or issues and was well accepted and liked by most
of the racers I talked with at the track.

I get to leave first & last. I can't really see how it can be unfair. If I spot a car, and they go red, I win with no effort. Is that nice for me? Sure. But how could this new system be unfair? I should have had to make a decent run to win. Fast cars losing their freebee rounds may not like it, but what legit complaints could they really have?

It puts everyone on a level playing field. Besides the slow vs fast argument, I would think the TRUstart would be a boon to any racer where the dial is within a tenth or so of their competitor. With both cars trying hit their light, the least offending red light would prevail - which would only be right...

The dial ins do not matter. A tenth or five seconds, it is now a fair game.

Of all the rounds run how many times was the outcome changed from the current way? How many places to the right of the decimal point does it read when both go -.001 red?

If they both go .001 red, the first red would lose. Right?

Ed

I believe that's what we have at present.........?

Too simple that way, it would need to be carried out a little more.....

I believe the timing systems can discriminate several more decimal point
well past what is printed on the slips.

I have been in a Dead Heat at a National Race before on the slip and the
system still picks a winner.

Now Ed don't go using common sense again. Only ones that wont like it are the new cars and modified because they get to leave last 90% of the time.
