Default Re: High rpm 427 bbc build 940hp?

When I ran a short stroke I shifted 9400-9600 but never knew how much power 440" motor made. Did not have the $$ to dyno. Biggest problem was the valve train. Was fortunate to have a few really sharp guys help me out.

We had a customer that purchased the 402ci D/SM (at the time) from JEG in the mid 1990's. That engine dyno'd at +900hp. I was working at Kromerkraft at the time and we built a set of headers for that engine and gained 5hp. I remember somewhere around 940 or 950 back then.
Thanks, Ron

Is that possible??? Never seen one make that much power.

I'd like to look at those heads , because its highly unlikely , no , make that definitely NOT anything close to what AFR produced...so this suggestion is somewhat "misleading". The only thing AFR 315 about those heads is the casting. Contemporary t-ram / carbs , vac pump and all the other bells and whistles .....

Tony Mamo did the heads. Never witnessed it or had anything to do with it.

Not quite sure what your problem is with me or Mamo but it was just a simple discussion. Weather it happened or did not does not matter. Some say yes it is doable but not meant to be a debate.
