Exclamation Bell Housing Rip-Off Beware!

Got my bell housing back today that I sent for recertification from Trick Titanium

New owners...$249 plus $15 handling plus shipping= $295
for 2 year cert...still don't believe it...cost $75 two years ago

Figured it will cost me $1320 plus shipping for the right to use my $3300 titanium can for the next ten years

Guy told me this is 2008, gas is $4 a gallon and cars were $2400 in 1970

Maybe I should sell it and buy a powerglide

Who do you complain to????

Jake,249.00 plus 15.00 doesn't equal 295.00 You must of been so PO'd you couldn't think straight. I know what you are saying though. We see it everyday in the chassis business. Steel prices have risen so dramatically,it's hard to keep up. And when fuel prices are finally coming down, they jacked ours up 20 cents the other day.For what? Oil dropped that day......Maybe a glide is not so far out of the question?

Well, the fresh certification raises the re-sale value $300 now.

I feel your pain, but there is nothing you can do.

Al
I didn't add wrong $249 was for the recert $15 was a handling charge and $31.81 was for shipping. That adds up to $295.81 (cost me $19 to send it to them). I'm not moaning about the shipping. But two years ago the recert fee was $75 plus $24 UPS=$104. There is no justification to charge $249 + $15 = $264 to inspect and attach a SFI sticker! I washed the bell in parts washer and wiped it dry because they always did have a note on the return form they would charge an extra $50 if it needed cleaning.
Brian Browell charges $75 for his alum bell housing and I believe Lakewood is the same. I just had my car restickered (25.1E) and the cost was $75 for NHRA to recert. I'm under the impression that the bell has to go back to the OEM for any work or recert so your stuck with them.
Regis sold the company and there are new owners of Trick Titanium. I was so mad I forgot his name. Guy on the phone told me they may refund $100 to my credit card (this time)...Thanks
