Re: "Barn-Find" Stockers?
Mike,
It was a Gen 1 Car that Howard raced here in Texas back in the 70's. Not sure where it came from. If I remember right it had a SBC and ran in J/SA. Car was pretty unique. It had leaf springs and a Stahl traction device. The family still had the original title on the car and matched the #'s

Might add, I only remember a Nova wagon Howard raced, Allen drove it one time and after the launch he said there was nothing to do but check the radio and look around, felt he would never get to the finish line, LOL. Camaro was a black 68 4 speed. Interesting racing family. Last edited by Coleydog; 12-10-2018 at 07:08 PM. |

Re: "Barn-Find" Stockers?
My Brother found a 67 Chevy II SS in a orange grove. it didn't have a motor or seats the body was fairly straight but it had one unique item. Someone had put a straight axle under it. we put 4 tires on and pulled it out to the road paid the guy and loaded it on the trailer and headed home with it. On the way home we were hoping nobody seen us it was a real jewel LOL. I had another front end we put it on and bought another chevy II that was completely rusted out. The girl used it for her Beach Car. The interior was perfect. The car then set in my brothers barn for another 20 years he then told me to put it together to race it. In the mean time my son bought a Chevy II body from a gentleman from NC and wanted me to help him so my brother sold the Grove find. And I am at the present time putting together my son's car. I would show some pictures but don't know how.

Re: "Barn-Find" Stockers?
My 65, not too sure if it came out of a barn, I bought it on E-Bay, "Buy it Now" for a $1000 and had shipped to my house in NY from Deleware. The frame was full of sand, so wherever it was had to be close to a beach.

Re: "Barn-Find" Stockers?
One of my cars tried to get into the barn a lot. Does that count?
