Default William Dunlop was killed today:

Tragic news- It is reported that William went down in the "Sams Tunnel" section of the Skerries 100 road racing course in Northern Ireland earlier today.

William was 32 years old, and leaves behind his tiny daughter Ella and his widow Janine, who is pregnant with their next child.

William's father Robert died May 15th 2008 during the North West 200 in Northern Ireland. Robert's sons William and Michael were on track at the time of Robert's death during a practice session. Michael and William were subsequently declared mentally unfit to race, but three days later they forced their way onto the starting grid, and Michael won the race.

Robert's older brother Joey died July 2nd 2000 in a minor race in Estonia. Fifty thousand people attended his funeral in their family's home town of Ballymoney in Northern Ireland.

There are memorial statues of Joey and Robert in Ballymoney, and there is also a statue of Joey on the Isle of Man.

William's death leaves Michael as the only remaining road racer from the Dunlop family.

Thoughts and prayers for the Dunlop family and loved ones.

My wife and I attended the 2016 Isle of Man TT, watched William and Michael race, watched Michael run the first 133 mph (average speed) lap in history, and visited Joey's statue.

There is an excellent documentary about the Dunlop family called "Road", narrated by Liam Neeson. It features the late Joey Dunlop, the late Robert Dunlop, the late William Dunlop, as well as Michael Dunlop:

Funeral arrangements have been announced- it will be at Wednesday July 11 at Garryduff Presbyterian Church in Ballymoney Northern Ireland, the same church where the funerals were held for his father Robert ten years ago, and for Robert's brother Joey in 2000.

In a brief video interview, Liam Beckett (who is a Dunlop family friend as well as a BBC pundit) is saying that the cause of the crash was not rider error:
