Default Re: NHRA to allow any accepted engine/body combination in Pr

I understand the purpose but I still don't like it. If there is no factory support other than Chevy, I think they should go ahead and allow more aftermarket manufacturers in. NHRA accepted heads and blocks only. Maybe catch the interest of a few head/block manufacturers other than OEM.

I wonder how Charlie Westcott feels about the change...
Hope it doesn't hurt his program.

Exactly
I guess they got tired of factoring for Ford and Mopar.
Is Pro Stock bike next?, or is there more parity...
I think its a shame for the class.
hope it helps the cost and participation.
or could this usher in Factory Stock to a new level?

They killed Pro Stock when they stopped racing at Divisional events....

NHRA made real racers into PROs but they never got permission from the Nitro guys.....

NHRA drag racing used to be the sport for people who loved working on and racing cars....

Now the only difference between Funny Car and Pro Stock is the fuel that they burn....

Just a body with decals and the same engine.............

Just sayin'

PS:
And I am still waiting for NHRAs 10 year, 5 year, 1 year or a even a 6 months plan..

Chevy's in everything! I'm curious how the Manufactures feels about this?
“The NHRA Technical Department worked very closely with the Pro Stock teams and the vehicle manufacturers in finalizing this rule change,” From the press release above.

Terrible decision. The NHRA will legislate Pro Stock into oblivion.

The only ProStock teams left where Chevy I thought. RPM limit killed Dodge and when Glidden retired there went Ford. This is what NHRA wanted all along, just like NASCARS sticker cars. Soon you'll buy your engine from NHRA so no one is better than the other, simple tech, hard to cheat. My entire life of what I liked going down the toilet. I hope they do read these posts.
