Default How much labor would be involved in an SS/VX teardown?

Drop the engine and pull one head?

I think the VX class is more of a Modified program, so weight, cubic inches, and part numbers and easily measured items like carb bores, etc. I don`t think they would require the head to come off . And if they did, pretty sure most VW racers would have the engine on the ground before most vehicles would have the radiator drained!

Yeah, it would be little more than just the four bellhousing bolts, throttle cable, fuel line, and one electrical connector for the crank trigger.

I believe all the X classes are pump and go.. Along with some visual stuff.
I've set the SS/DS record and SS/CX a couple times in the past.
The only time I was ask to tear down was after a 1.56 under in SS/DS.
That was in div.2. I think it was more harassment than anything technical.
In years past I've seen the VW guys change engine between rounds with ease. I think your right..Not too much to it.

Yes, we have 3 or 4 10 second VW Beetles that run in our local stickshift group, and they can have the engine out of the car to work on the clutch in less time than it takes me to get my car up in the air and get the tools ready to adjust the clutch base pressure.
