'78-'87 El Camino V8 Stocker?

The V/SA record is currently at 1.87 under and I understand this was an 87 El Camino with a 4.3 so this combo would be worth considering.

Hard to find the records anymore since they aren't important enough to print in ND.
I know they are online somewhere but I still like to see them in print. I'm guessing that Mr. Shaw could tell you something about that record.

But as cool as I think the wagons are (and I'll openly admit that I've been shopping for wood-grained adhesive vinyl online), the young wife thinks station wagons/estates/shooting brakes are lame.

And at the same time, she's always wanted to have an El Camino. A Holden HSV Maloo R8, to be specific, but that's just not gonna happen. Fortunately, she digs the '78-'87 El Camino too. Kind of ironic, that it shares the same chassis as the wagon I admire...

Yes, that makes 100% total sense. You are the voice of reason in every sense.

That said, I found a great deal of joy racing twice a week for many years when I was young, putting Corvette after Camaro after Chevelle after Nova after Mustang after GTO after 4-4-2 after Mopar after AMX (ad nauseam), on the trailer in NHRA Pro ET, with my $850 stick-shift Mazda back in the '80s, using a nearly stock junkyard 70 cubic inch engine that I built myself, on a kitchen chair.

Now that I am at the other end of life, I'd like to try it again, and if it isn't successful, I'll probably still enjoy it just as much, mostly because of the people- drag racing, at least at the sportsman level, is a very social sport.

My dad is putting his 1 owner 85 El Camino factory SS Choo Choo custom SS nose car for sale. 58k miles 305 carbed Sun burnt off black with excellent burgundy interior. Needs heater core and air compressor clutch replace, fuel lines and gas tank just cleaned out to sell vehicle

Don't know that the Choo-Choo modified vehicles are legal for Stock Eliminator.

Patrick Downing had the Downing Farm 305 Mailibu wagon for sale. I know it’s a wagon, but it is turnkey fast and fun. The car was leaving like a beast with the wheels in the air at Gainesville. This is going g to cost more than a bracket Mazda.... prepare your wallet. I would tell my non racing friends that talk about a race car to try this test. Go to the bank. Withdraw 50 one hundred dollar bills. Throw them in the toilet and flush them one at a time. If you don’t make it to at least 35 before you throw up, don’t buy a race car. You won’t make it.
