Dave your right in the cooler months the factors are generous but they are off in the heat and other than Pomona our sea level tracks Sonoma and Bakersfield are run in the summer .... Dave Diesel out here is around 3.85 a gallon in Arizona about 3.50

Cool Re: Mine shaft air in TUCSON Arizona or what?

Joe,

Hope you are doing well, say hi to everyone... I agree with the weather, but the fact is you guys get NO-HP, WHY ????? You can go as fast as you can, you have a favorable adjustment, and ontop you don't get punished.. The problem isn't how fast you can go, its you don't get any H P... Racing shouldn't be letting of at 1000' so you won't get HP.. Yes, the weather plays a major role back here too, but why do we get PUNISHED... Joe, good luck this year racing..DJR,

What I have said many times is let us run as fast as we can at opens. Don't count those runs towards the AHFS. This would even us out some what. And we won't need a slide ruler and a calculator to figure out what we ran. Reminds me of that fuzzy math. It's a bleeping joke Barry

Talking Re: Mine shaft air in TUCSON Arizona or what?

Barry/Laura, a little identity crisis going on? I guess when you have a beast of racecar you can call yourself anything LOL. Barry I thought Opens/Divisionals do not count unless you go -1.4 under???

Everyone can talk all the smack they want, until you are on the same track on the same day it is just talk. Though I have never raced out West we have been to some slow tracks and gone fast. Bristol & Numedia. I guess the only difference is at factored tracks you can go all out with no worries, -1.4 under is not in reach for me, so I have learned to let it go.

Should you factor the air or the track (sea level) or both??

Hope to see you at the track (soon).

Just remember, that cars that are built to run in Altitude are different than cars that run sea level. You sometimes have to run a different camshaft, headers, converter, and ect. Some of the factors out west are generous, and thats why guys a 1.5 under, but those cars are still fast. The record thing isn't fair, unless you can go to an altitude track it isn't worth trying to set it with the hp deal and the factored runs. But give those guys credit out therefor some good running cars.
