A few years ago someone was asking if anyone had ever race a 429 Mustang in stock or super stock, here's one, not sure how it ran.

Back-in-the-Day. {1970 Photo}

1970 Ford Boss 429 Mustang {429/375 HP}

Shipping Weight ....... #3445 lbs.
Factor ....................... #3445 lbs. ~ 375 HP = 9.18 Wt./HP

But in 1970, the NHRA re-factored the 429/375 HP to 410 HP

New Factor ............ #3445 lbs.~ 410 HP = 8.40 Wt./HP

1970 Class {8.00 to 8.49} Wt./HP .......... C/Stock

Fougler Ford {Monrovia, California} ...... Pat Mahnken

The NHRA re-factored the 429/370 HP.

1970 ......... Classed in C/Stock

The Mustang in the photo of Patti Young's is Hubert Platt's SS that he raced at Pomona and I bought in November 1969. As we were riding in the Ford Drag Team truck he said that Patti was using his car and he was getting it back and wanted to sell it for $3500.00.

This is how it looked when I got it

Pomona 1970 with rear wheels and slicks I borrowed from Hubert

I have been trying forever to find information on a Mustang / Racer that was raced out of a Ford Dealership in Massachusetts where my Dad used to get his company car serviced and brought me there when I was very young and introduced me. It was a yellow mustang named "Super Duck" I believe..??...it was yellow and would have raced at NED....any info would be greatly appreciated...????

The guy had blonde hair and reminded me of Ronnie Sox...

Rick, That might have been Dick Holden's 'Yellow Duck' '68 Mustang out of Jack Madden Ford. Ran SS/FA.

new guy here, old C/stock class racer. I was surprised to see the ad for my old Mustang for sale by Charlie Ford. we set the national record in 1977 for C/Stock at 11.05. the car was sold to Charlie and Sonny Hall.
here is a pic when it was a C/SA at the 1976 Fallnationals

That would have been it....Thanks I wasn't quite sure if it was Super Duck or Yellow Duck....could never find anything on the web.

Couldn't remember where Dad got his company car serviced either....but Jack Madden Ford in Norwood sounds about right...we lived in South Easton at the time.

Is Dick still around??? I was pretty young and just remember him being a super nice guy...only met him the one time????

Thanks again !!!!
