MCR Stick Challenge moves to Earlville!
With Mother Nature dealing a bad hand at Rock Falls last weekend, the Stick Challenge has been moved to Tri State in Earlville, Iowa this weekend.
So here's the run down: Friday 6-26 the track is hosting a Test and Tune before the MCR/Heartland combo ace on Saturday and the NHRA D5 Natl Open on Sunday. The Stick Challenge Q1 will be run on Friday @ 2:00 To make all this work within the time the track has to work with, racers in the Stick Challenge will need to be timely in reporting to the lanes. Our thanks go out to Reed and his staff for hosting this in addition to their already full weekend.

Hello MCR! Did the Stick Challenge take place this weekend? If so, anxious to hear results and who, if anyone, collected the Merolla bounty.

The Stick Challenge is in the books! Sadly, only 20 cars could make it back, out of the original 40. The bounty on me went to my buddy Matt Steen in round 3. He also won the S/SS combo on Saturday, even after breaking a shift finger in the first Q session. The final round pitted Jim Parsons in his one-owner '66 L-79 Nova against Johnny Diekema in his '65 Corvette, with Johnny coming out on top. Congrats, Johnny! The forecast was for storms in the afternoon, but all we got was a 3-minute shower. Thanks to the excellent staff and equpment at Tri-State, we were back on track in about an hour. Looking forward to next near! Big thanks to everyone who put this together! Last edited by Paul Merolla; 06-29-2020 at 11:08 AM. |
