Default Lookin for NHRA Stock Class ET/MPH from 1970-71

Hi there I hope this is a good place to ask this.

I am compiling an ET/MPH history of how all the old 1950-1970 iron ran back in the day.
The rules (and cars) changed so much after 1971 I am stopping there.
Cant do em all.
Today's ET/MPH have almost no relevance since the technology and rules are so different.

I have found that my Gonkulator program can do a decent job of estimating, but I like to have some ET/MPH data on a car to start with.

For example:
I have tons of "Road Test" data on the Ford 429tj/cj/scj cars, 90-106mph seems to be the range unless a plug wire was off.
The SCJ cars always run 100+ MPH.

But, I can find NOTHING on NHRA stock class times.
As examples I gonkulated the following but again have NO real data from back then, with 1970 NHRA class:

429/360 TJ auto: H/SA
13.24 at 104.0

429/360 TJ 4spd: H/S
12.90 at 107.0

429/375 SCJ 4spd: G/S
11.92 at 116.1

That's the kind of stuff I m looking for but REAL timeslip data.

I found a couple:
1970 LS6
11.49 at 120.1 C/S

1970 W30:
12.96 at 108.0 G/SA
I've searched the net and every book I can but very little on stock (or even super stock) 1970 cars from back then.
Any help appreciated!

H/S 1968 Chevy II NHRA record holder in 1970-1971. 350 Hi Compression engine, Muncie trans. Ran low 12.'s at 112 on an average run on 7" slicks. Weather conditions and the track itself played a big part in those numbers. Showroom stock street driven cars is a completely different story. Most muscle cars ran 14's and maybe some high 13's. Street tires were not usually going to allow fast et's back then. Limited et's on even the most powerful cars. Tracks were almost all asphalt. No concrete yet other than a very few places. Asphalt was fine in cool weather but terrible in the hot summer. 7" slicks were marginal on high HP stock cars back then. Big block cars routinely went pretty sideways sometimes off the line.

Rick T,
Thanks, I have that June 1968 list already.
A "June 1970" list like that would be a gold mine.

Rich B,
Thanks, I have your Nova already at 12.25 at 114mph - a "good weather" day?

As shown on that list, for C/SA, those old 421SD Pontiacs were quick, back in the '60's. No tellin how many national records they set, thru those years. I've read that Don Gay won A/S at the '63 US Nationals with a 12.81 @ 112 mph.

http://www.hotrod.com/cars/featured/...na-super-duty/

This one is said to have set the national record with a 12.27 @ 114.64mph in C/S, in 1963.

There were also several 389 Pontiac wagon combos that set quite a few records.

http://www.hotrod.com/cars/new-car-r...reaking-bonne/

And, of course, their were lots of GTO's that set records, and won races. Knafel Pontiac & Royal Pontiac are 2 dealers that campaigned Pontiac drag cars.

And, when the Firebirds came along, they too, set records and won races. But, some of these feats came along after your cut off date of '71.

I have that record page on my desktop computer. Tried to post it but it was just not very readable. I will try making a bigger copy tomorrow at work and post it.
