Dampen Clutch Engagement on Street Car
Is there any device that will allow a controlled clutch engagement during launch for a streetcar using a stock clutch?
This is for my stock 2016 Scat pack Challenger. |

I thought some of the old school muscle car racers use something like you are describing. Hope it is easy to change the clutch, because you will have to if you use it a lot. LOL

You will need to google "clutch tamer" to find current info... http://webcache.googleusercontent.co...erinstall.html
Another option... https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ol-device.html

Re: Dampen Clutch Engagement on Street Car
Is the "clutch tamer" the screen door closer? I saw that on another site, looks like it will work for just about any clutch. The one I'm talking about slows down engagement, in other words slips, fully adjustable, I'll be getting that for my street car, 23 spline box, big torque engine.

Re: Dampen Clutch Engagement on Street Car
Thanks for all the replies. Definitely some options out there.
Best reply directly to me was get a torque converter, lol. |

I don't have a version specifically designed for your Challenger, so a ClutchTamer install is likely going to be more involved than installing one of the in-line devices above. I say likely because I have heard bleeding the clutch on those cars can be quite a chore. Here's a link to my Initial Setup & Tuning Guide. If you only want to add a little slip, that's no problem. A little slip goes a long way in reducing the impact that gets passed along to your stock IRS. Grant Last edited by weedburner; 08-05-2018 at 01:03 PM. Reason: dead link |

Re: Dampen Clutch Engagement on Street Car
How about your left foot and its adjustable ? I have been 10.14 on a stock IRS camaro. Just have to be comfortable with the car and practice once you get it down you'll be fine ,Its a fine line of slipping the clutch for sure.
