Re: Steel City Missile
I am sure Randy is right....my memory is not that great anymore.
I'll try again......I think the Black Duster went to Dan Durham around 98 and then to a young guy in Rancho California who race out of Bob Mazzolini's shop in riverside in early 2000s forgot his name. Have I got it right this time? Is that the Right Missile? I think there might have bee two different Black cars that you raced and I may still have the wrong one. Re: Steel City Missile
I would like to know the whereabouts of the" Real " Steel City Missile that was owned by Steve Benyo. The car was a 1974 360 built by Neil Lehman and myself. It was the Hamburger / Lehman team car in the mid to late 1970's. The last I head it was in Michigan and was converted into a 1973 340.

Re: Steel City Missile
Wes,
I talked to my dad today about the missile. He knows who has it now, it is still on the West Coast. We raced it for many years and have loads of pictures. It was in the Mopar Performance Parts catalog as the California Missile. When we stripped it down to paint we could see remnants of the original hamburger paint scheme, blue and white. Loved the car, it was good to us and my Mom still hasn't forgiven him for selling it. lol, If you want any info, just call my dad, Mike Loge 925 584-8402. |

Re: Steel City Missile
Sort of off topic, but this thread got me wondering what happened to Bob Lambeck's black Duster? There was an article in Hot Rod or Camaro Craft magazine and it showed the build up. They claimed to use the factory oversize cast pistons. Stock was pretty close to stock back then.

either his Yellow or Red Dusters? I do know that both of those got sold to a gentleman in New York State in the late 80's or early 90's. As for the 1973 yellow California Missile, there was one or two owners between Chad Langdon and myself. I bought it from Mike Rice of Long Beach CA after he bought the Steve Hahn 1979 360 Volare and painted it Red and later it went to Mike Loge and Chad Loge had some great success with it.

Re: Steel City Missile
I appreciate the picture and information from those who responded. These old race cars have had an interesting history of moving from one side of the country to the other with various owners. Some get lost in the shuffle and some are found and resurrected. I'm glad there are those out there that have some first hand knowledge of these old cars. Thanks again, Phil.

Re: Steel City Missile
Small world. In 1998 I bought a 73 Cuda S/ST-bracket car from Mr. Irving (Hope you're doing well) and was tempted to buy that yellow ex-Loge Duster sitting right next to it instead.
I remember the car was verrrrrry tempting... |
