Default Midwest Class Racers TVD event July4-5

Here's the latest on the Midwest Class Racers event at Thunder Valley in Marion, S.D. on July4-5, sponsored by Curt's Cycle Center (Curt Hieb) in Chamberlain, S.D.:

Schedule for Sat. and Sunday are the same. Because July 4th has the largest number of cars (in all classes), Saturdays race is a day race not the traditional night race like the other two events. We did this last year it seemed to work well.

If you'd like to come early, the gates open Friday at 9:00 am. There's a Test-N-Tune starting at 1:30. There is also a Shoot Out event beginning at 5:00 pm.

The schedule for Sat.(4th) and Sun. (5th) are the same:
Gate open @ 8:00 am
-First qualifier @ 9:00
-Second qualifier @ 10:30
-First round @ 1:00 pm

Following the race on Saturday (approx. 6:00 pm), there is a pot luck BBQ with some great pulled pork sandwiches provided. The sponsor for the BBQ is Jon Jamison (Jamison Equipment) with Terry Grosz and Corky McGaugh doing the cooking. Please bring a dish to share and your favorite beverage (adult or otherwise).

Finally, there's a few 'housekeeping' details everyone needs to be aware of:

1. On the right top corner of your tech card, write your car number, class and IHRA index. This is a must for the tower staff and will insure that qualifying goes as smoothly as possible. You will have one tech card for each day.

2. Please deliver your completed tech cars as soon as possible to the second floor of the tower. If you're going to race both days, you can bring them both with you. The cards must be there before the first round of qualifying.

Payout on both days:

$2,000 win
$1000 r/u
$500 semis
$250 quarter finals
$125 second round win
$75 first round win
.

At our last event, we had 59 Stock and Super Stock cars on Saturday and 54 on Sunday including our new 'local' racers the GTX John Irving and family from Las Vegas, who plan to be back for this event.
