In section 8 of S and SS it states Aftermarket starters, in stock location, permitted. Guess that would mean for stock starters too. But it would appear that this rule is in every SS class, even the SS/?X classes. At the start of each SS class it says that the rules are the same as the previous SS class with the following exceptions. Since there is no exeception for starter location in SS class or any following class it would require that the starter be in the stock location. .At least thats my read

The Drag Pak cars use a LHS starter with the 727/904.

The starter in the specs for all drag packs is for mounting on the driver side. The 2008 prototypes had this. ATI makes a starter, as does RobbMc (which is the Mopar part #). Bolts up to a 904/727/ or bell housings are available for both sides to service the drag packs and street challengers.

Thanks Jeff. Hope your getting around well. I have asked NHRA to clafify this question and the official I talked to mentioned that he had seen this thread so he will likely see your response as he researches the answer. Initial response was for drivers side but more checking was required. I also asked about Hyd throwout bearing with a biondo button to have the same setup a transbrake car has (for SS). He did not say Hyd was illegal but again he will look into it and get back to me.

Jeff, got an extra intake and TB sitting around for a DP?
